If you are a Facet author, we hope you will find this page useful in supporting you and outlining our services. We have practical tips on working with us during the publishing process and on helping market your book to your readership. Editorial & production

Facet Publishing books are highly regarded for the quality of design and production. Our production team take pride in their attention to detail and are well known for the high standards of accuracy and clarity they bring to each project. Our dedicated and experienced production staff are happy to advise authors on any technical issues. Detailed guidelines for Facet authors preparing their texts, and further details about the production process can be found below. We hope that it will answer most of the questions you may have about preparing your book for publication, but our Desk Editor, Lin Franklin (lin.franklin@facetpublishing.co.uk) will always be happy to give you further guidance.

Files for you to retain for use are formatted as PDFs. You will require Adobe Acrobat Reader to read them. Files for you to complete or modify are in Word format.


The Facet sales & marketing experience

Marketing is central to our business and we work hard to understand our customers using innovative and broad ranging methods to reach them. We give every book we publish individual attention making sure we maximize the awareness and sales.  Here’s what you can expect:
 

Pre-promotion

We start promoting your book before publication, ensuring library suppliers, online bookstores and retailers are updated with accurate, up-to-date information supplied automatically using ONIX feeds. Your book will also be included in our annual catalogue which is sent all over the world and used by our international agents and representatives to sell in their territories.


On publication 

We make a big splash when your book publishes, sending out a press release to announce its publication to the community, launching a dedicated email campaign, promoting extensively through social media and sending out review copies to all the major journals worldwide as well as to relevant specialist journals, blogs and other publications.


After publication

We continue to raise awareness of your book after it publishes, including it in all relevant subject-specific email campaigns, promoting it at the major global conferences across the discipline as well as relevant niche ones and putting your book forward for any appropriate awards.
