How to order


Order with confidence 

You can purchase books by adding them to the shopping basket. Look for the BUY NOW icon to add the title to the shopping basket. This icon appears when browsing the categories, as well as in the search results. In the book details page, you can also specify how many copies you want, though there is always the option to change quantities on the view basket page.

The shopping basket will carry your items around while you browse the website until you choose to checkout. For a running total of how many items you have in the basket and a running subtotal (without P+P and applicable discounts), click on the view basket link at the top right hand side of the screen. Clicking on this at any stage will bring up the Basket page.
 

Checkout 

For your convenience, Facet Publishing operates a customer registration process. This is quick and simple and only needs to be completed once for your very first order. On subsequent visits, you will be able to use your unique email address and password to log in and retrieve your personal and delivery details. Once you have logged in or registered, there are 3 easy steps to complete your order.

1. Delivery details 
You can use your default address, a previously saved delivery address or you can enter a new delivery address.

2. Payment details 
You can either pay by credit/debit card.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to security reasons, Facet Publishing DOES NOT store your Credit/Debit Card details on file. You are required to enter this information every time you place an order. The information is only used for the purpose of fulfilling your order and is then deleted

3. Confirm order
This screen displays the full details of the order including the order items, totals, delivery and payment details. Please review this screen and click on the Edit button adjacent to the specific area to correct any details. After you have reviewed all details, click the Place Order button to submit your order.

You should be presented with a final screen which confirms your order has been received and a unique Order Reference is displayed. Please make a note of this order reference in case of any queries. You will also be sent a confirmation email (to your registered email account) detailing your order.

4. Fulfilment of your order
Your order and payment are fulfilled by Bookpoint Limited on behalf of Facet Publishing.

Q. How do I order books online?
A. Select a title by entering details into the search box above or by browsing books by subject area. Add the title to your shopping basket by clicking on the Buy Now button. You will then be able to continue shopping by repeating these steps. Complete your order by clicking on the Checkout button and submitting your details.

Q. How long will delivery take?
A. Delivery will take between 3 and 5 working days for deliveries in the UK. Deliveries to overseas addresses may take longer.

Q. Will I be charged postage and packaging?

Q. Will I be charged VAT on my order?
A. Books have zero-rate VAT. You will only be charged VAT on non-book products and the VAT will be added to your shopping basket when you reach the checkout.

Q. What payment methods are accepted?
A. All major credit and debit cards. Alternatively, if you are ordering via post, you may send a cheque made payable to Bookpoint Ltd. with your order.

Q. Am I entitled to a 20% CILIP member discount?
A. There is a discount of 20% to CILIP members on Facet Publishing books. Personal members are not allowed to claim discount when ordering for their institutions. The discount will be applied to your shopping basket when you reach the checkout.

Q. How do I claim my 20% CILIP member discount?
To ensure that you automatically receive your CILIP member discount please fill in your membership number when ordering online or quote your number in any correspondence with Bookpoint.

Q. If I want to place an order from outside of the UK, who should I contact?
