Ben Showers is a Digital Transformation Manager at the Cabinet Office.  Previously Ben worked at Jisc where he was Head of Scholarly and Library Futures working on projects that included a shared library analytics service, as well as projects exploring the future of library systems, digital libraries, usability and digitization.

Dr Denise Koufogiannakis is Associate University Librarian at the University of Alberta Libraries in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. In 2013 she received her PhD in Information Studies from Aberystwyth University, Wales, UK.  Denise co-founded the open access journal Evidence Based Library and Information Practice and has held several editorial positions since the journal’s inception in 2006, including Editor-in-Chief from 2009-2011. Denise has contributed numerous research papers to the scholarly literature of EBLIP, and has served on the Program Committee of the international EBLIP conference series since 2003. In 2007, Denise was named a “Mover and Shaker” by Library Journal for her contributions to the evidence based librarianship movement.

Dr Alison Brettle is a Reader in Evidence Based Practice at the University of Salford, UK. She has specialist expertise in literature searching, systematic review methodology, evidence based practice and the evaluation of health information services; pioneering the use of systematic reviews in library and information practice.  She has over 20 years experience of health, social care and library related research and teaching environments and has led and supported a wide range of projects and published extensively.  She has been involved with the open access professional journal, Evidence Based Library and Information Practice since its inception, and was Editor-in-Chief 2012-2014.  She also hosted and co-chaired the 6th International Evidence Based Library and Information Practice in Salford in 2011.  As an active member of the UK professional body, CILIP, she leads research training and awards on behalf of the Library and Information Research Group and has recently authored a systematic scoping review on the value of professionally trained and registered library and information professionals.

Peter Hernon is a professor emeritus at Simmons College, Boston, and was the principal (and founding) faculty member for the doctoral program, Managerial Leadership in the Information Professions. He received his PhD degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, and was the 2008 recipient of the Association of College and Research Libraries’ award for Academic/Research Librarian of the Year, the founding editor of Government Information Quarterly, and past editor-in- chief of The Journal of Academic Librarianship. He is the coeditor of Library & Information Science Research and has taught, conducted workshops, and delivered addresses in eleven countries outside the United States. He is the author or co-author of 57 books, including the award-winning Federal Information Policies in the 1980s (1985) and Viewing Library Metrics from Different Perspectives (2009).

Ellen Altman, now retired, was visiting professor in the Department of Library and Information Studies, Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand), 1996– 1997. She had been a faculty member at the Universities of Kentucky and Toronto and at Indiana University, professor and director of the Graduate Library School at the University of Arizona, and feature editor of Public Libraries, the official publication of the Public Library Association. Altman was coeditor of “The JAL Guide to the Professional Literature” in the Journal of Academic Librarianship, a member of the editorial board of Library Quarterly, and a co-author of Performance Measures for Public Libraries. She received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Rutgers School of Communication, Information and Library Studies, in 1983.

Robert E. Dugan is the dean of libraries at the University of West Florida (Pensacola). Prior to assuming this position, he had been at Suffolk University, Boston; Wesley College, Dover, Delaware; and Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. He has also worked in state and public libraries during his 40-year career. He is the co-author of 13 books, including the award-winning Viewing Library Metrics from Different Perspectives (2009).

David Streatfield leads Information Management Associates, a research, training and consultancy team working in education, health and libraries. He has over 25 years' experience in educational and social sciences research and consultancy, including several years as Head of Information Research and Development at NFER. Both David and Sharon are Independent Impact Consultants to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation's Global Libraries Initiative and have worked in a similar capacity for various overseas and international programmes including the International Federation of Library Associations and the United National Development Agency in Bulgaria. 
Sharon Markless is a Senior Lecturer in Higher Education at King's College, London and at the University of Surrey. She carries out research and consultancy work with Information Management Associates in the field of public, academic and school libraries. She is a trained teacher and was formerly a Senior Researcher at the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER).

Dr David Stuart is a researcher in the Centre for e-Research (CERCH) at King’s College London, and an honorary research fellow in the Statistical Cybermetrics Research Group at the University of Wolverhampton, where he was previously Web 2.0 Research Fellow. He has a PhD in information science and regularly writes about library and information science topics for professional journals and magazines. His previous book Facilitating Access to the Web of Data was published by Facet Publishing in 2011.

Andy Tattersall BA (Hons) MSc  FHEA is an Information Specialist at the School of Health and Related Research at the University of Sheffield.  He is also secretary of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals Multimedia and Information Technology Committee and a Mendeley Advisor for the social reference management software company.

Maria J. Grant BA (Hons) MSc (Econ) PG Cert (Ed) is Research Fellow (Information) at the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work, University of Salford, UK. 

Barbara Sen BA MA MCLIP is Lecturer at the Information School, University of Sheffield, UK. 

Hannah Spring PGCE BA (Hons) PhD MCLIP is Senior Lecturer at York St John University, UK.
