Professor Ian Ruthven is Professor of Information Seeking and Retrieval, Department of Computer and Information Science, University of Strathclyde. 
 
Professor Gobinda Chowdhury BSc Hons, MSc, PhD, FCLIP is Professor in Information Science at iSchool@northumbria, and Head of the Department of Mathematics and Information Sciences at Northumbria University. 

Christine Urquhart was a full-time member of staff in the Department of Information Studies, Aberystwyth University. Since retiring from full-time teaching she has continued to pursue her research interests.

Dr Faten Hamad is an Assistant Professor in the Library and Information Science Department, University of Jordan.

Alison Yeoman was formerly a Research Officer in the Department of Information Studies, Aberystwyth University and is now an independent researcher.

Dr. Milena Dobreva specialized in digital humanities and digital cultural heritage in the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences where she earned her PhD in 1999 and served as the Founding Head of the first Digitisation Centre in Bulgaria (2004); she was also a member on the Executive Board of the National Commission of UNESCO. In 2007 she was a guest researcher at the University of Glasgow contributing to the DELOS network of excellence in digital libraries. In 2008–2011 she worked at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow and served as the principal investigator for projects in digital preservation and digital libraries funded by the European Commission, JISC, Europeana Foundation, and the Scottish Funding Council. In 2012–2017 Milena was an Associate Professor at the University of Malta. As a Head of the Department of Library Information and Archive Sciences she spearheaded the redesign of the departmental programmes, extended them with a Master’s course and supervised the first Maltese Master graduates in Library and Information Studies. Milena is a member of the editorial board of the IFLA Journal, and of the International Journal on Digital Libraries (IJDL) and is the co-editor of User Studies for Digital Library Development (Facet, 2012).

Andy O'Dwyer has been with the BBC since 1986 applying technical solutions to the long term preservation of broadcast material. He has managed several European collaborative projects providing online access to parts of the BBC's newly digitized content. 

Pierluigi Feliciati is a Researcher in the University of Macerata, Italy.

Schubert Foo BSc, MBA, PhD, CEng, CITP, FIMechE, FBCS, PPA(P) is Professor and Associate Dean of the College of Humanities at Nanyang Technological University. He was a former member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Information Science, Journal of Information and Knowledge Management and International Yearbook of Library and Information Management. He has co-written and edited a number of books including Knowledge Management Tools and Techniques, Design and Usability of Digital Libraries: Case Studies in the Asia Pacific, Social information retrieval systems: Emerging technologies and applications for searching the Web effectively, Handbook of Research on Digital Libraries: Design, Development and Impact.

Les Watson, well known for his work on the Saltire Centre, is now a freelance educational consultant on library, learning and IT issues. He has worked in education for 40 years as a teacher, lecturer, dean and pro-vice-chancellor and has managed libraries and information services in several organizations. He has considerable experience of library developments, creating, in addition to the Saltire Centre (2006), REAL@Caledonian (2001), tlc@bedford for Royal Holloway, University of London, (2008), and the Fountains refurbishment for York St John University (2011). He was lead consultant for the web resource Technology Rich Spaces for Learning in 2007 and has produced reports for the JISC and EU on aspects of learning, teaching and information technology (IT). He is a fellow of the RSA and Visiting Professor in Learning Environment Development at the University of Lincoln, UK. He can be contacted from his website www.leswatson.net.

Dr Martin De Saulles is a Principal Lecturer in digital marketing at the University of Brighton. He has worked in the information and technology sectors for 20 years as a researcher, analyst, entrepreneur, writer and academic.

David Bawden is Professor of Information Science at City University London, editor of Journal of Documentation, and a council member of Aslib. He is author of over 150 books, chapters, papers and published presentations. 

Lyn Robinson is Senior Lecturer in Information Science, and Director of the Postgraduate Information Studies Scheme, at City University London. She is author of numerous papers and published presentations, and has written two books, including Facet's Understanding Healthcare Information.

Nigel Ford is Professor of Information Science at Sheffield University, and is currently Deputy Director of the Information School’s Centre for Information Literacy Research. He has taught information behaviour at undergraduate and Masters level for 30 years and is a leading researcher in the field, with an extensive publication record spanning journals and books.

Dr Alison Jane Pickard is Head of Information and Communication Management and Director of Quality and Student Experience in the School of Computing, Engineering and Information Sciences at the University of Northumbria, where she is also Programme Leader for the new Professional Doctorate in Information Sciences. She teaches Research Methods in Information and Communication Management, Information Sciences, as well as other subject areas, and has project managed a number of JISC and AHRB research projects.
